My Story

Nick Batsikouras – Owner/Inventor of the Smart Diet Scale

In 2011, I lost 100 pounds in 12 months and have kept it off since.

For years I struggled with my weight; losing 10 to 30 pounds but then just gaining it right back. I tried low- carb diets, low-fat diets, and fad diets. You name it, I’ve tried it! Finally I did something smart. I learned portion control and exercised 3 to 5 days a week for 15 to 30 minutes. Additionally, I counted calories every day except for my “cheat day” once a week.

At 290 pounds I needed to eat 3,200 calories a day to maintain my weight. My goal was to lose an average of 2 pounds per week or 8 to 10 pounds per month so I ate around 2,000 calories per day. I had to weigh my food and look up the calories of every meal I ate. I also kept track of everything in a journal. Boy that was a lot of work and time in itself! That’s why most people fail because it takes too much time and effort to keep track of your daily calorie intake. To accomplish my goal, I knew what needed to be done and it worked!

“There must be an easier and faster way of tracking my daily calories.”
As I was going through my weight loss journey, I thought to myself “there must be an easier and faster way of tracking my daily calories.” As we all know, calorie intake and calories burned is the key to weight loss and maintaining a healthy, fit body. So I put on my thinking cap and went to work to invent the Smart Diet Scale; the world’s first food scale capable of calculating and tracking the nutritional value of the entire meal on your plate. It’s so easy and fun to use and saves a tremendous amount of time. By using the Smart Diet Scale you will greatly improve your chances of achieving your goals. The Smart Diet Scale can and will help you improve your life.

Here is a story I would like to share.

A person I met at a 2012 New Year’s Eve party asked me what I do for a living. I told him about the Smart Diet Scale I invented. It turned out that he is a diabetic. He explained to me all the work and time he spends on meal planning, meal tracking, food weighing, and looking up the sugar and carbohydrates in every meal just to keep his diabetes under control. A few minutes past midnight in the New Year of 2013, he introduced me to his wife and said, “This is Nick, the man that is going to change my life.”

As I was flying back from the 2013 CES show, the person sitting next to me asked what I was doing at CES. I told her about the Smart Diet Scale and she said, “What a great product, Nick. The world really needs it.”
